The family of C.F. HOUGH are spending a few days at Andover.
E.H. HOUGH of the Hornellsville "Herald", was in town Tuesday.
Mrs. C.B. STILLMAN has returned form her visit among relatives in Rhode Island.
Aaron W. COON and wife of Andover, were at his father's for a few days the fore part of this week.
Martin W. BABCOCK, who is stopping for some time with his son, at Scio, was in town for a few days.
O.W. PRATT of Hornellsville was married on Wednesday afternoon of last week to Miss Inez GROVER, of the same place by Dr. NILES.

Fred C. HARTSHORN, a clerk in the hardware store of SHELDON Bros., Hornellsville, committed suicide last Monday morning in the NICHOLS house by shooting himself in the head. Whiskey was the cause of this sad ending of life.
Hon. Seymor DEXTER and family left town Saturday afternoon. The family have been spending several weeks in this delightful summer resort and the Judge has been here about two weeks. We hope to see them with us again next year.
The hail storm of Sunday was particularly severe in the town of Ward., four miles west of here. Hailstones measuring 1 1/2 inches across fell, and the ground was covered with them. Windows were broken and fields of late oats and buckwheat were nearly destroyed.
Chas. F. HOUGH is so as to be able to work again.
Byron L. GREEN and family are expected home this week.
John HATTER contemplates opening a barber shop here soon. Full particulars later.

Charles L. SHAW and wife, who have been rusticating a week at Friendship, returned home Sunday.
Cass THOMAS has the thanks of the printers for a peck of delicious early pears which he left at this office Tuesday.
The Town Board met on Monday last, and appointed Thomas GREEN Highway Commissioner to fill the vacancy, caused by the death of A.C. SISSON.
F. G. BABCOCK of Hornellsville has been appointed by Governor HILL as delegate to represent this state at the annual convention of the National Cattle Growers' Association, to be held in Chicago on Nov. 17 & 18.
