- Mrs. GILMORE, of Denver, Col.,
formerly Miss Mary CRANDALL of Almond, is alarming ill, and her aunt
Miss LOCKHART, has gone to her . - Steuben Signal
- John HATTER, the tonsorial artist
requests his patrons desiring work done on the Sabbath come to his room as
early as possible, so that may be able to close his doors before 10:30 A.M..
- At the meeting of the Grand Lodge, E.O.M.A.,
held at Geneva last week, Hon. Seymour DEXTER, of Elmira, was
elected Grand President. He very acceptably held that office two years ago.
- Lost, between this city and Hornellsville,
one day last week, a ladies' hand basket, lined with scarlet merino,
containing about $20. The finder will be liberally rewarded by leaving it at
the post office.
- Irving SAUNDERS and wife have been
visiting the cities of Rochester and New York with an eye to improvement in
the art photographic. At Rochester, they gained valuable information
regarding "dry plates," And at the Metropolis put in their time on
crayons and large work as a sequence, improved work may be looked for at
their hands in the future. - Friendship Register
- A social time was enjoyed by a few invited
guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Byron L. GREEN on last Tuesday
evening, and it proved to be an occasion to refresh the minds of those
present that whenever a company is held at the beautiful home of these
friends a good time is expected. After partaking of a supper that was fit
for a king, a while was passed in merriment and chat.
